As a child, I was always impressed by my grandmother’s beautiful skin and the fact that everyone in my family seemed to have good skin. My fascination with beauty products grew as I noticed advertisements everywhere. By the age of 14, I had acquired a significant amount of knowledge about various beauty products and began using them myself. I observed that some products suited my skin while others did not. One day, I asked my grandmother about her beauty regimen and the brand names of the products she used. She revealed that she relied on traditional, natural remedies passed down through generations.
Intrigued, I started using these natural remedies and noticed their positive effects, with almost no side effects. This sparked a deep interest in herbal products, and I began reading extensively about them. I soon became a big fan of homemade herbal products, appreciating their affordability and effectiveness.
During my 10th-grade holidays, we visited Himachal Pradesh and stayed at a local farm. The owner spoke to us about the herbs available in Himachal and their potential uses in beauty products. I was eager to use these herbs but realized it would be difficult to make these home remedies while living in a boarding school. Someone suggested I use readymade herbal products, but I had so much faith in the things I had learned and was using.
When I joined the hostel, I realized that many girls wanted to use herbal and homemade products that were affordable and safe. I discussed this with a family friend who worked in the cosmetic industry and learned various ways to prepare herbal home care products. Recognizing the demand and having gathered extensive knowledge of herbs and natural skincare, I decided to start my own organic cosmetic brand. My aim was to provide affordable, natural beauty products that were easy to use, even in a hostel setting, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the benefits of good skincare without breaking the bank.
Thus started the journey of teen 16.
